This unit allows for the study of a passive avoidance reflex, using aversive stimulation to inhibit the innate tendency of rodents to avoid large open and bright spaces and hide small ones.

    Two different sized and coloured compartments separated by a sliding guillotine door form the experimental box. A separate control unit (not shown) gives full control over the experimental parameters and record the behaviour of the experimental subject along the trial.
