SMART-SS by colour tracking is extremely suitable for studying the social behaviour of two or more animals. Colour tracking lets the researcher know, not only the number of contacts that have occurred, but also the exact tracking of each individual (the system does not mix the tracks even though animals come to touch one another) and the relative movements that have taken place between the subjects.
By painting the animals, SMART is able not only to detect the contacts, but also to follow the tracking of each subject and analyse it.
Just because this powerful mode tracks the animals not by shape, but by colour, it is obvious that the researcher must label the animals with a colour before proceeding with the experiment (paint them somehow with a paint or marker pen of certain colour, fit them with a coloured harness, etc.).

Selecting the colour that will identify each subject is just as easy as clicking the mouse above the coloured zone of the animal (on a frozen image).
