We acknowledge that researchers usually perform many experiments per day, in many of which several animalscan be under study at the same time. Therefore, it seems extremely useful to distinguish between different possible subjects not by a number, but by a mnemonic name; this way, the researcher will easily associate the results in the monitor, or in the analysis, with each subject under consideration.
The Testing Subjects Selection window lets the user properly name all the possible ind
ividuals under observation,

Lists of subjects provide an easy way to control the subjects that take part in several trials of different experiments

Whether the user has prepared the names of the subjects that take part in the trials or not, he/she can always type or change them in the window that appears on screen once a trial ends in an arena. Here the user can also change the name of the experimenter and add any comments he might feel necessary.

as well as choose the ones that are going to be used in a particular experiment. This window also allows the creation, modification and saving of lists of subjects.
The Subjects Selector window will have an Arena Number selector in the case of SMART-MA (multiple arenas) option; and an eight- colummn grid in the case of SMART-SS (several subjects).
