You are providing me with some files I can not open!

From SMART's web site, you can download some files like manuals, brochures, update files, etc. You need specific freeware applications in order to open them.

Adobe Acrobat Reader lets you open "PDF" brochures and manuals

Winzip lets you open/view/extract/etc. zipped files

How can I know which is the suitable lens for the camera I use with SMART?

Choosing the suitable lens for the camera you use with SMART will let you make the most of SMART's system. In the document Choosing the Suitable Optical Lens (7 pages, 531 Kb) we briefly explain some parameters you should consider when choosing a lens for a CCD camera: size of the CCD sensor, focal length, angle of view, manual/auto iris, etc.

I want to use a Video Tape Recorder with SMART. Could you give me any advice?

if you want to use a Video Tape Recorder with a SMART system, the only thing you have to be aware of is that the VTR must include the TBC option (Time Base Corrector). A TBC (Time Base Corrector) is a device that turns a VTR’s unstable image into a stable image. Most professional VTRs have built-in TBCs but many consumer and industrial models (such as Hi-8 and VHS recorders) do not.

Normally, you should consider not a professional VTR (too expensive!!!), but a semi-professional sVHS that includes a TBC module. The best option, of course, would be choosing a VTR that fulfils the TBC option, but maintains an excellent quality-price relationship.

Obviously, we at Panlab can always give you advice of any particular model you would like to use, or even better provide you with the model of VTR we think is the best in the actual market conditions.
