1. Compact multichamber organ baths The Series 01 Organ Baths by Letica, are highly compact units designed for easy maintenance of isolated tissues in physiological conditions during long period of time, making the recording of the tissue response to drug challenge possible. Several models, from two up to eight chambers are available. All of them are supplied with an external heating control unit, transducer' stands & micro-positioners and tissue holders. | | | | | | | - Highly compact design, freeing more bench surface
- Complete ready-to-work units
- 5, 10, 25 & 50 ml chambers available
- Chambers fully and easily interchangeable
- Easy to clean
| | | Detail of the transducer micropositioner and the tissue holder. Both the transducer and the tissue holder are fixed to the micropositioner. This allows moving both elements jointly, facilitating the mounting of the preparation. | | | | Tissue chambers' container Tissue chambers and reservoir coils are mounted on a single Perspex container that, once filled with water, maintains the physiological salt solution at the temperature pre-set in the heating control unit. A magnetic pump located under the floor of the container constantly removes and refills the water of the container. Water is re-entered into the container smoothly, minimising vibration, diffusing heat throughout them and ensuring equal temperature in all chambers & coils. A heating resistor warms up the water into the container. An external heating control unit controls the resistor; this unit, using a feedback mechanism, provides a DC current proportional to the difference between the current and the target temperature. In this way a highly stable thermal level, with less than 0.05 C fluctuation is achieved. A water level sensor located into the container allows for the disconnection of the heating system when there is not enough water to cover the heating resistor. | | | | | Tissue chambers Glass chambers and reservoir coils are mounted on the floor of the container by sliding it around a Teflon fitting connector provided with Vitton O-rings for fixing. This make chambers exchange easy and allows to take full profit from the range of chambers available (5, 10, 25 -supplied as default- and 50 ml). Inflow of the physiological salt solution into the reservoir coils is done through rear panel connectors for each coil separately, thus allowing for the use of different solutions in each vessel. | | | | | Gas diffusers A very fine and removable gas diffuser is mounted in the middle of the chambers' fitting connector. This, jointly with an extremely precise gas inflow-adjusting valve, allows for a very smooth diffusion of small diameter gas bubbles into the chambers. An additional gas outlet in the front panel provides gas for the tissue reservoir while mounting the preparations. | | | | | Chambers' emptying & filling systems According model, chambers' filling/emptying is done by using a three-way stopcock or by acting on filling/emptying electro-valves controlled by front panel push buttons. In the models with electro-valves, an additional input connector allows for the external control of the electro-valves operation. The change of the physiological salt solution in the organ chamber can be done removing the waste solution by the bottom outlet and replacing it by fresh solution entering also from bottom of the chamber. The replacement by overflow is also possible. In this case, the fresh solution is entered into the chamber without removing the waste solution; liquids exeunt the chamber trough the upper overflow outlet. | | | | | Technical characteristics | N of 25 ml () chambers | 2 | 4 | 6 | 8 | | Size [h, w, l (mm)] | 270, 280, 190 | 270, 440 190 | 270, 600, 190 | 270, 760, 190 | | Weight (kg; container empty) | 7 | 10 | 13 | 16 | | Container volume (l) | 5 | 8 | 11 | 14 | | Chambers emptying & filling system 3-way-stopcock | LE 01.002 | LE 01.004 | LE 01.006 | LE 01.008 | | two electrovalves (filling & emptying) | LE 01.026 | LE 01.046 | LE 01.066 | LE 01.086 | | Shared by all baths | | Reservoir coil capacity | 80 ml (each) | Temperature regulation (C) | 0.1 | | Size of the heating control unit [h, w, l (mm)] | 120, 155, 240 | Thermal stability (C) | 0.05 | | | | | () Supplied as standard; 5, 10 & 50 ml also available | | | 1. Modular single chamber organ bath The LE 11.100 Single chamber Organ Bath is formed by an interchangeable tissue vessel (5, 10, 25 & 50 ml available -see picture-; 25 ml supplied as standard), mounted into an easily removable Perspex jacketing tube. In the base of the tube, a Teflon connector with Vitton O-rings, allows for the vessel installing. To this connector is associated a three-way stopcock for the physiological solution exchange and a fine needle-valve for gas regulation. | In the upper cover, a movable stand is provided for the tissue holder (also supplied with the unit). In this cover is also mounted the transducer stand, including a fine micropositioner for the transducer position adjustment (the transducer hole is 6 mm diameter; please specify when ordering if other diameter is necessary; 12 mm max.).The transducer is not included. The whole is mounted on a Perspex chassis with two fixing holes. A stand is provided with each unit, but the chamber can be also easily installed on wall or table fixed rods. As many units as necessary can be mounted side by side. The organ bath must be heated using a water thermoregulated pump (not included), able to warm up to six LE 11.100 units | | | | | Ordering information | Code | Description | Compact organ baths | | LE 01.002 | Two chamber organ bath with three-way stopcock for filling & emptying.
